The Black Friday deals at Pepboys are getting scarce. In years past they had a bigger B/F ad. The oil deals have gone up in price (at least for conventional oil) and no filter included anymore.

I missed out on the $25 free gift cards they used to do way back. Sucks.

The current battery deal is better on the 34/78dt I'm looking to buy. Wonder if anyone else will have a better deal. BF/CM roulette!

Mail-in rebate, no thanks.
Last year, I got screwed over by a few merchants over these mail-in rebates so no more for me during Black Friday sales.

A PB gift card rebate worked great for me earlier this year and applying for it online was really easy....didn't have to scan my receipt, just typed in a code from it and I was pretty much done. My daughter got the gift card for pocket money once it showed up in the mail, maybe a couple of weeks later.

I have a little jack like the "Big Red" in the ad that is starting to get wonky, for $10 it is probably worth getting another one rather than trying to fix up the one I have. Would actually be convenient for some jobs to have two if I bought a new one and then put some work into the other one when I have time. I would also grab some oil with the $15 rebate if I made it into PB, but the one in my area is on a very busy road I try to avoid.

The forces of Godless Communism have merged with the kleptocratic corporatocracy of Carl Icahn to bring to us the most disappointing Black Friday since Steely Dan got stoned on stage back way in 1977.

No genuine motor oil sales. No one dollar coolant. Not even a gaggle of Guangzhen scooters or the 32 free spark plugs of just a few short years ago. Witness prices that only match Wal-Mart by standing on the tenuous shoulders of corporate rebates, and unpopular tires that have been re-priced to make up for their fictional discounts.

But the $10 basic jack kit is pretty neat if you drive a Smart car.

Meh. I avoid buying on Black Friday anyways, as a rule. Haven't stepped foot in a Wal-Mart on Black Friday (or Thursday) in years, except if I needed some very last minute Thanksgiving dinner ingredients.

That jack looks like the basic one they've been making for the last 30+ years, probably why they're able to keep the price so low even after all these years as they used to be $20 30 years ago. Still have one like that, got it at Sears at the time. It's a 2 ton jack, when you just jack up one side of your car, even if the car weighs over 2 tons, it's not going to have a problem lifting up 1/4 to 1/2 the weight of the car. It would be nifty to get one as a spare, but the one I have is probably 10+ years old and I don't see it failing any time soon.

It appears Pep Boys is doing away with the BF deals, I blame new ownership. Reminds me of Panera ,No more free Bagels for a month since they sold out to new owners. mad

I'm hoping to make use of that 35% off discount on an H9 AGM battery.

Maybe they're just getting in line with other auto parts store. You never see a black friday deal at Autozone or Advance Auto. Pepboys always had the best Black Friday deals. But you're right, they're not as good as they were in the past although I guess the Mobil 1 deal wouldn't be that bad if Mobil 1 hadn't been doing their $12 rebates for the last few years. It used to be worth it just for the filter, but with just 20% off on filters that are marked up 50%, not really worth it. Used to be free a few years ago, picked up a cartridge filter, should have gotten more.
