I have used the Premium Guard before with good results and uoa but the quality is hit or miss. You might get a Chinese, Korean or Mexican made PG all with the same part number. I don't like not knowing before I put it on.

The act of preventative maintenance, in and of itself, is FAR MORE important than brand/grade/base choices among lubes and filters. - under maintaining something is akin to abuse/neglect; that can kill equipment by shortening the lifespan - over maintaining something has never been proven to be anything but a waste of time and money

OP mpgo4th M Joined: Jun 2014 Posts: 44 VA	For what its worth, on my 185000 mile 5.4L Ford, the federated is the only oil filter I've used that stopped the startup clatter from the engine.
