Pulled the passenger side cowl panel to change the sparkplug wires so I decided to throw in a cabin filter I picked up from a Rock Auto clearance last year. Almost a year on the filter. Nothing to see here.

I took my socks off and put new ones on. Similarly I am unimpressed by the event.

Cabin air filter state doesn't mean much. It all depends on your environment and how much and how fast you run the fan. Personally, I'd rather they all did a design where the air filter was further upstream, blocked all debris from getting into the system at all. Do it lawnmower style and add a pre-filter before it even, so you only need to remove that to get the bulk of the leaves, insects, etc off, but have both at the system intake. Problem is they'd probably need some sort of cowl-gravity system to reduce the amount of moisture getting in so the filter medium didn't mold, adding extra space which goes against the plan to make vehicles harder and harder to service by eliminating any extra space.
