Only two approved oils, ACDelco and Mobil (same oil as XOM is the supplier for ACDelco) but nothing on websites gives any information.

Actually "dexosD 0w20" says it all. You don't need to know anything else. I prefer Mobil1 ESP x2 0w20 because it is not only dexosD, but it also has a long list of other accomplishments. It has passed VW 508 (for my '19 Tiguan), Mercedes 229.71, Porsche C20, Jaguar-LandRover, SN, C5. All you care about is seeing the dexosD part. https://mobiloil.com/en/motor-oils/mobil-1/mobil-1-esp

New one on me, I always thought Dexos 2 was the GM diesel oil spec. Reminds me why all my stuff is old...

dexos1 -- Gasoline engines only dexos2 -- Most diesel engines, and a few gasoline engines (Corvette here; gasoline in Euro). Gasoline here is now low sulfur, so why not? As long as LSPI is not a concern. dexosD -- 0w20 diesel only, very special purpose right now. I expect it will expand to gasoline and diesel engines later.

I’m just surprised that dexosD isn’t FA-4, maybe to eliminate confusion with HD diesel oils (which seem to be -30 weights).

bullwinkle, FA-4 has HTHS 2.9-3.2, and dexosD is around 2.6. I guess FA-4 can't go low enough. Other differences, FA-4 is higher SAPS than dexosD. Noticing Mobil Delvac 1™ Advanced Fuel Economy (HTHS 3.2) does have a gasoline rating, SN at least. It could be used in a lot of passenger car gasoline engines.
