For Sam's Club members today is a one-day member appreciation day sale.

I just bought a Serta Perfect Sleeper Elite mattress for $200 off their regular price, and a 10,000 watt gas/propane dual fuel electric generate for $150 off ($648 shipped). I actually ordered the same mattress for full price a couple of weeks ago before I got wind of the sale and cancelled it, and bought today for $200 cheaper.

Only certain items are on sale and it ends today.

All tires are on sale today $100 off of 4 plus $60 off of installation package = $160 off regular club price

Not sure how Sam's has been for you guys, but the tire departments in my local stores are terrible. I constantly am getting conflicting info over when to rotate tires, they refused to patch a tire that was within RMA recommendations and wanted to sell me a replacement tire they didn't even have in stock. When I bought my tires on a Saturday sale, they didn't bother to ask the mileage or put it into the system when they were installed, so the invoice says 0 miles. I went in for my first rotation and balance and the tech said "you're behind on your rotation - you need to do it every 5000 miles to keep the warranty on your tires." First off, he has no clue how many miles I've driven or how many where on the clock when the tires were installed - he hadn't even seen the odometer or asked what the mileage was. Second, there was a stack of warranty pamphlets right best to him that said to rotate every 7500 miles. Third, after 20 minutes he said the tires where wearing perfectly even (rwd vehicle) and he wouldn't recommend rotating them. I said "what about balancing them?" - he goes "oh, you wanted them balanced? It's gonna be a little bit - I have to take the tires back off the car again." He didn't take them off to begin with! I have complained to tire center managers, Store GMs, called in complaints and they all seem to lament the same thing - "yeah, our tire centers suck"

I have had no issues with the initial buying experience at Sam's Club (4 Michelins) or the two times I have had the tires rotated and balanced after I bought them. I rotate mine every 5,000 because that what is says in the Toyota owners manual. It will be due for the third rotate/balance soon.

My tire experiences at Sam's have been spotty at best. Biggest issue was time to get the job done, longer than two hours.

On the other hand, my daughter in Wichita had a very good battery replacement experience when her Subaru battery quit on her. She went to Sam's and was in and out inless than a half hour. They were able to quickly accommodate her and she didn't miss her next business appointment.

Ordered a set for the Sienna this morning! Right around $300 for some Goodyears. A very good deal, I'd say!

I too have had nothing but bad experience in the tire department. It is purely not acceptable to have to wait over an hour to have two tires mounted and balanced. Extended wait times are common in my experience. This also happened a few times buying a set of four tires. I believe part of it is in hope you'll go shopping while you wait. The savings l've seen on tires is simply not worth the hassle.

Does Sam's get the special, crappy Walmart-specific Goodyear's?

I wouldn't touch those GY's with a 10' pole, but spend your $ as you see fit

Did you schedule an appointment or just show up at 10AM Saturday or another busy time?
