Scotty Kilmer says these were originally the best batteries in the world. Now they got bought by a large manufacturer (Johnson controls??) and the reliability as returned to that of an average battery but with the high price tag.
Nope, that was Optima. I ran a lot of them for a long time, and the quality did drop way off when Johnson Controls bought them and moved production to Mexico.
Odyssey are still great. They're just so dang expensive I'm not sure they're worth it.
I run farm/ severe service batteries now from Deka. My last two Optimas didn't make it a year, and I had to drive an hour to get them warrantied, so I started buying local.
