My run of Liqui Moly Top Tec 5w-30 for an interval of 5,127 miles and ~7 months. 70% Hwy 30% city. Also did a TAN this time.

It looks good to me. 70% highway is easy on the engine and the oil. Nice report.

To be fair, the Redline oil was installed at about 10k miles and dumped at 15k. The slightly elevated metals in that earliest report were likely residual from break-in.

Exactly @ 10K miles on an engine odds are there are still break in metals being shed.

Maybe, but the higher iron is still in line with the universal average....
 
There is no need to get defensive about Red Line.
Consider not just break in,
but also the "scavenger effect."

Now let's take Liquimoly with low moly, and disappearing moly. LOL.
SMH. And we hear complaints ad nauseam about Group III and XOM vs Castrol.

BTW, I read somewhere that Liquimoly is overrated.
Yet this is indeed a stellar report.
It must be the price.

I understand. I also got 22ppm of Fe on RL on a 14k miles unit and 6k miles on the oil. Yet, the drop from 22 to 8 is noticeable. Good UOA.

To be truthful, what evidence is there that this good UOA is due to the specific oil being used rather than engine design or operating conditions? Hasn't Blackstone shown that there is no statistically significant difference in UOA results between any appropriately rated oil?

Yes it is, my point is this: Aside from telling if there is coolant getting into the oil, poor air filtration, or excess fuel getting into the oil, there isn't too much more to gather from a UOA with 10K miles on an engine. That topic has been discussed many times here over the years.
 
Thank you! Very informative. TAN almost twice higher than TBN for just 5k miles, where 70% is highway driving.
I would not use this oil longer than you did, may be even dump it after 4.5k. Definitely not a long run oil.

P.S. I am still insisting that UOA without TAN useless. Pure illustration for "all or nothing".
