I'll be changing the oil in the truck today. One thing I must say, theres a 2013 F150 at work with the 3.7, used for deliveries, which I changed the oil in it with 5W30 recently. Its much noisier on cold starts compared to my truck, which I can only assume has MC Syn Blend 5W20, as it was serviced at the dealee before I bought it. My engine is super quiet on cold starts.

With 20 wt oil having a max cst of 9.3, will the Pennzoil Platinum 5W30 be alot thicker having a cst of 9.8? I want to use the 5W30 but dont want it to be noisy.

PP 5w-30 tends to be on the thinner side (noting the Cst of 9.8). Look for an oil with an HTHS @150C of 3.0 or greater or a Cst of 11.0 or greater for a thicker oil in a xW30.

I have a 2018 Taurus which would have the 3.5L version. It's running on ST5w30 syn and I have not noticed any cold start noises. Of course in Sout Carolina it doesn't get really cold.
