Clearly Pentosin is underrated on BITOG.

The elements are there...
--Only available in three forms, all nice and thick.
--Professional appearing bottles.
--No ridiculous marketing hype.

It is OK oil, though their Super Performance III 5W30 is PAO based and proved really good.

Here's my latest UOA. Stage 1 tune, K&N, etc. etc. Did it early at 6K b/c I was upgrading to Stage 2 and a new larger trubo and other bits. This time I'll likely go to 9K. I see no reason why folks bust on LM - looks great to me.

$ 110.10 .

How bad are the Amsoil prices in Canada?

Amsoil pricing is comparable to the United States since they have a warehouse in Toronto and don't overcharge when they apply the currency conversion. I just bought a case of CVT fluid from them that came with free next day shipping.

I don't think Pentosin or any other brand is overpriced in Canada. It all depends on where you shop. That same pentosin bottle which sells for over $100 at Napa is $39.99 at another shop (https://comotorsports.ca/pentosin-5w40-motor-oil-5-liter-8042206-comotors.html)

Just have to search using google.ca and then filter results by country.

Yet another reason why LiquiMoly is probably overpriced for what it is: You can get VW 508/509 Porsche C20 0w-20 oil in the U.S. from France (Total brand) for $8 per quart. (rmeuropean.com), Compare to LiquiMoly 6200 oil for $15 per quart. (fcp euro) All in 5L jugs to get the best unit price.
There is nothing known to be that different to justify the higher price.

TiGeo, LiquiMoly is looking a lot better now. Nice if they actually had some proof they are worth their price at those shows. Fun anyway.
Actually your UOA above does have remarkably low iron ppm for the miles. Yet its a sample of one so I'm still skeptical of LM's superiority.

So I just looked at Pentosin 5w40 and it's only rated to SM/CF, however it's got all the approvals I would look for. Is this just a lack of API testing?

I would say they did not change formulation. API is irrelevant in this class.

I wouldn't hesitate to use it for a second

Really curious how the LM Molygen will look in UOA vs. the LM LL HT. Anyone have a comparo? I know it's green. I know it also doesn't have any of the approvals but is just "recommended for".
