My manual calls for SAE 90 GL-5 gear oil. I'm having a hard time finding SAE 90. Is there a xxw-xx equivalent?

You want marine gear lube. 80w90 should be readily available. Check your local auto or marine store. Also, you might want to buy a hand pump to install the lube. Watch a you tube video of unfamiliar with it.

You can use 80W-90. Been doing it for years, and the fish I catch are just as big. Easy to find. Last time I did it, I used a hand pump from Wally world, and it was very inexpensive to do the whole project. If you use synethic, the engine will rev a little easier. If it's going into a marine engine, DO NOT use oil that's not rated for marine use.
