I picked up these Super Auto oil filters for less than $2 each and they seem to be of good quality (supposed to be equivalent to 57045 filter) I have searched the internet and cannot find any info on these. Has anyone heard of these or know who makes them? The media is 2.75" x 46" and has 49 pleats. I have cut this open for your thoughts, thanks for any input..

That can shape looks familiar, but can't remember where.
What is the country of origin on the box?

Not a Wix (wrong base plate and center tube), or Fram (Fram does not use louvers or coil springs).
It may be a Champ filter (but don't think so), and also don't think it is a Purolator either. Purolator uses leaf springs in most of their filters, not coil springs.
If I could see the bypass spring I could tell if it is Purolator.
It just may be a generic MiC filter (although those usually have a "Leak Tested" stamp on them, as well as a normal date code, and usually don't use louvers either).

Looks like a Chinese made Purolator clone. Some "Super Auto" parts are listed on Amazon with very little information about the company that makes them.

The use of coil compression spring makes it look similar to the China coo OFs posted here. So without more information, just a generic filter of that origin. And though Puro is mentioned a couple times this thread, never seen a Puro US spin on that uses a coil compression spring.

The bypass spring housing looks oddly long in the one pic.

It does say "removes 99% of engine oil impurities for superior engine performance" Well, there you go. laugh
