Is a straight 90 unavailable in the US? Our Defender asks for an "EP90" lube and there's a few smaller manufacturers producing straight 90 'GL-5' lubes which I have run in our Defender without issue and I've also used them in the diffs of my Mothers Suzuki Jimmny. In a bid to shrink my oil stocks, I use a 75w90 lube that meets API GL-4 and GL-5 so it can be used in gearboxes, transfer boxes and diffs etc.

"Yeno". GL-4/GL-5 are widely created for FWDs (build-in dif in the gear box). If you have "stand-alone" transfer/diff, you can relaxed use GL-5 oils.

"GL-4/GL-5" or "GL-4+" (the same) are a compromise oils.

I've seen it but rarely on brick and mortar shelves at the auto parts stores in the USA. But it can be ordered online fairly easily at a reasonable price if you look around.

Gebo, LM = Liqui Moly

There is also Motul 90, but it is ~$26 per litre here, and the worst part: it is thin!
