Outdoor propane stove?

Looking for something fairly sturdy / heavy duty to cook stinky stuff outside on the patio. Two burner is fine, but the burners need to have some shielding from wind and I'd also prefer it to have side shelves.

I was looking at this Camp Chef Pro60X, but the side shelves look a bit flimsy to me:

I've seen these for about $250 online, which ain't cheap.

Do you guys have any other recommendations?
 
I went with a portable induction stove mainly due to the wind issues. I used to use the grill sideburner but wind made me find an alternative solution.
 
Well I was going to recommend either the Weber Spirit or the Weber Genesis. Those will probably last 10+ years as the one I got in 2008 is still working and it looks fine. The cheap ones tend to rust out after 2-3 years so if you pay less, it will cost you more over 10 years than paying more initially for one that will last a long time.

I have to agree on the Weber. I've had our Genesis in our outdoor kitchen now for well over 12 years. We cook 4-5 times on it each week year round. I've replaced the grates (plum wore them out), and had to replace the igniter button. I'm not sure I'll ever need to actually replace the grill itself-it's built like a tank.

I also like that Weber makes replacement parts for all of their older grills-not like the cheapie grills that you won't get parts for after 3-4 years.

Thanks, but I am not looking for a bbq grill. I already own a Weber one.

I am looking for a gas range/stove that I can cook stuff in pots or frying pans on.

Interesting alternative, but then I'd have to invest in induction compatible magnetic cookware. Do you recall which make/model you have? Does it run off standard 120V outlet? Is it powerful enough? Does it still work well in sub-freezing weather?

It's a cheapie one from Amazon, $50 I think. Duxtop or something like that. I use stainless steel cookware for it and works well.

Haven't cooked in freezing weather but I see no reason why it wouldn't work.

Could a regular kitchen cook top be hardened. The 4 burner propane one in the kitchen looks pretty rugged and you could pit it on legs and use a cover.
 
I used to have a camp stove with the disposable canisters. It worked very well for the purpose you are talking about plus it was our cooking device during storms when the power went out. Portable so you can use it anywhere.

Induction. I checked and it's 1,800w device and is $49.99 on Amazon.
