I like the photo by Chris. Here is one taken in Calgary in CDN cents per liter. Although done slightly differently, both the US and Canada price gas is detailed to one tenth of a cent. We don't even have pennies in Canada anymore.

At Irving in So. NH. near the MA. border.

Then I average ~40 MPG around town with the 1.4tsi.

I guess I have to whomp on the Leased ugly pig a bit more.
but, the transaxle is already whining for help!

What town is that? With the big spread.

Krist downtown Wausau,

In the last 10 years, Ive never seen less than a $1 spread in Wisconsin
(The exception being when the regular fuel is way overpriced, in which case I go down the road and save 30 cents a gallon)

In Wisconsin you definitely need to know where to fill and to tie your fills in with trips you'll be doing anyway.

During the big price increases the Wittenberg casino had regular gas up to a buck a gallon cheaper than anywhere else.

Lately I only fill every other week in Appleton (if I can make it) when I go shopping there since 88 gas hasn't been over $2.34 a gallon in Appleton during the last year, while Wausau almost hit $3 for a while (nice having a monopoly in Marathon county isn't it)

Why is there a $1.50 difference between reg and premium? Ours is usually a $.10-$.20 difference between grades.

I have noticed that also when I travel. Its always .10-15 between grades around here.

70 up 80 cents spread here....

The increase in the cost between 87 and 93 started here with Hurricane Katrina.... Before that event it was typically 15 cents between each grade. But after that hurricane it went to 20 cents and 25 cents... And it has been increasing ever since.

I was a little kid the last time I saw that locally and diesel was $0.99 a gallon too

Though in Arizona I saw this happen twice,

things are very different out west, I think 10-20 cents difference is uncommon in most of the country

Premium is a means for the station owners to rip you off around here.

Not any different than the $630 title and registration you pay if your dumb enough to buy an EV in this area.
(All because you avoided the $41 of annual gas tax a normal car pays)

I'm 99% confident that the price difference there is due to state taxes. Correct ? I presume the same difference applies to every brand (at least at corporate-owned locations).

Yep.

I don't want to derail the thread going into detail, but one can find and discuss this on many places on the internet besides here.

So let's just let this aspect of the equation go to stay in compliance with the rules here.

If you folks could slice off Chicagoland and deed it to Canada or something, Illinois would be a great state.

Anywhere from $2.65-$3.00 for Unleaded here in Southeast Washington (Tri-Cities area), depending on brand. Surprisingly, Exxon is one of the cheapest here, paired with Circle K's. Usually a 25-30 cent difference between grades.

Wow!!!
What's Cali's state fuel tax?
I'm thinking that it must be at the high end.

It's not the worst, the fact that CA uses its own gas formulation year round delivered by one refinery that goes down drives their prices more than anything

Reg unleaded has gone up 15c in just the last couple weeks alone.. what the #$_&...... ..it was abt $2.85/gl a couple weeks ago and now it's over 3 by a penny.

Rag is $4 per gallon at the cheapies; probably 20 cents more at Chevron, etc.
Costco is 20 cents (or more) less.
Here is a breakdown from a month ago:
