2013 civic lx 1.8L 179k
So my water pump bearing is on its way out and I was taking the belt tensioner off to access the last bolt on the pump which is hidden behind the tensioner. Well, the 8mm Allen head pivot bolt in the tensioner is stripped I'm assuming from my local shop who installed the new tensioner in January.
I had the passenger side front tire off to gain better access and everything. I have a few inches of space at best and I cannot get a good bite in this bolt. Allen keys, Allen sockets, torq bits, I can't get anything to grab. The bolt is recessed to where it's pretty much flush and I can't get pliers on it.
What can I do?
