Go with M1 0w30. Easy to pull start when it's really cold outside.

Fairly common on better engines over about 10HP. Sign of a good engine.

Before someone flames me, plenty of good engines that size without them.

I have a similar generator, 5500 continuous and 8550 peak with a 10hp briggs engine. I use T4 15w40 here in Florida, the same T4 goes in my Predator inverter generator. In Florida they are only used in the summer. If I were in Canada using them for backup power in the winter I would probably use T6 5w40, but thats me.
