I have a couple old alternators, ps pump, 2 home ac Fan motors, a CV axle.
They were replaced with parts that didnt have a core charge so nothing to return.

Is they anywhere to return these for a $5 credit or something?
I would rather not toss in the garbage.

You could try listing on CL. But I doubt their weight is worth that much in scrap.

I just take mine to the transfer station and dump onto the metal pile.

There is a whole core supplier industry, but their primary source is wrecking yard and auto supply chains. Small quantities shipping UPS is not cost effective. Most rotating electrical cores are only worth a dollar or two. Home ac fan motors they shred them and the separate the chunks. By the pound.

If the CV is for a Honda or one of the other cars they regularly do axles for, you can contact Raxles and see if they'd take your CV core

Of course, you could also try rebuilding the cores yourself

They'd go straight into the garbage around here. I don't keep stuff like that and it's not worth fussing with it for a possible couple of dollars.
