Yep.

Former vehicles count?

1987-1990 - 1977 Plymouth Volare wagon, 4 speed manual, with a 225 slant six engine from a 1974 Plymouth Scamp. Put 80000 miles on the engine after the transplant, with 86k before. Castrol GTX 10w40 at 2500 mile intervals...later VWB at 3000. Frame was rusting, donated to high school auto shop.

2001 - 2003 - 1986 Mercury Grand Marquis, 5.0 V8, 156k, VWB up to 5000 OCI. Might still be running.

2005 - 2007 - 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0, 160k, VWB up to 6000 mile intervals, had the 0331 head, traded in

2008 - 2014 - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0, 168k, Amsoil @ up to 10k intervals. Never the same after being rear ended.

Ex's 2004 Jeep Wrangler 2.4 four banger, bought new; 202000 miles when we split up, Amsoil since new at intervals up to 12k miles. Internals were spotless at 165k when the head gasket was replaced.

Edit: just noticed this was supposed to be from-new vehicles...only new was the Wrangler. Figured would leave the others in to show how a good regimen on a used vehicle will keep it going. The 04 Grand Cherokee was purchased with 18k on the clock; the rest of the vehicles had at least 60k when I got them.

We just traded my Wife's 9 year old Toyota 4Runner with 165,400 miles. 4.0L V6, running like a top, only routine maintenance performed every 10,000 miles used Mobile one 10w-30 the entire life of the car. The only major repairs were new shocks, brake job and new belts on the engine.

I just wanted to see how many people here have over 150,000 miles on their original engines, to see what kind of oil you've been using and what kind of intervals.

We talk about a lot of different oils on here, and critique a lot of UOAs, but the absolute best way to find out if any particular routine works, is to look at those people who have had success with it by getting long life from their engine! That is truly what we are all trying to achieve here.

So if you've owned your car since new (or at least know the exact prior history of it from new), please step in and give us your input!

I think this could be a very interesting topic!

I had a 2011 Dodge Durango 5.7L AWD that had 150k on it when I traded it on Saturday. For the first 100k miles it got Valvoline White Bottle every 3-4k miles. After 100k it got Pennzoil Platinum High Mileage every 5-6k miles. (Book said to do 8k per change but the oils I used didnt seem to support that distance.

With his normal driving routine being somewhat different than mine he dropped back to a 5000 OCI, still with Mobil1. Great vehicle. I had Blackstone do an oil analysis once while I was driving it and their note said something like...."try 12,000 miles next change. Toyota got it right with the 4.7"

I have to agree.

Up to 212,000 now.

2010 Tundra, 155k, I suspect mostly TGMO or similar synthetic (bought used at 73k), probably on 0W20 for 120k then 5W30 lately. Mostly 10k OCI's.

2011 Camry, 190k, TGMO 0W20 for about 100k, lately any 5W30 or 10W30 synthetic. I alternate between 5k and 10k OCI's, 5k in winter.

1999 Camry, 212k, who knows what for 140k (bought used at 140k). Maxlife blend for a bit, now ST conventional. 5k OCI's.

OEM filters on all. Only the '99 uses oil, quart or so in 5k.

Our generic Corolla is still running very strong at 161K. Running M1 0W40 Euro formula without issues. We might have one of the few 1ZZs that does NOT burn oil.

Sonata is running great. Still have some stop and go and 80mph highway commutes. Runs like a champ. Always used syns and OCI's at 7k-9k. Plan on at least 250k out of her.

2001 Tundra V8 197K, 5w30 Syn or Syn Blend HM
2006 TSX 196K, mostly 5w30 M1 HM

Both in perfect condition; I never check the oil.

1993 Toyota 4WD Pickup 22RE, 350K (probably much more, broken ODO).
Gave it to my sister's family. In daily service.
