73,000 miles on the filter?

It looks good, must be almost all highway miles. How often was the oil changed?

"BMK 23-EA Dual Bypass Filter"

ZeeOSix Correct on the highway miles. Since I installed this Bypass filter setup over 3 yrs 9 months ago (136k miles)
I've actually never changed the oil. Between full flow filter changes every 25k miles and bypass filter changes every 60k or 70k miles the oil that I replace and top off has kept the TBN strong and viable. I've done a total of 12 uoa's so far. I'll post a 136k uoa when I get my results back.

I must say, I'd never attempt something like this, but I love seeing/reading about it. Always been fascinated by extended drain intervals/filtration/...but this is taking it to levels I've never seen. Pretty cool.

I once saw a youtube video of a guy who owned a Audi A4 with 350,000 miles...he went 50,000 miles between oil changes, but he described it as "self changing oil", because the car used a quart every 600 miles. Thought that was pretty funny. Had a check engine light on the dash...he says, it says check engine, so I checked it, it's still there, so I don't know what it wants me to do, but she purs like kitten!

A suggestion..
I would cut the filter medial and remove it from the centre tube. Spread it out and see what it may have trapped. Looks like it may have some carbon build up between the folds of the media.

That 4th photo - I'm kind of surprised to see all the "debris" in the bottom of the can, that settled around the spring.
