A friend just bought a used Lexus GX460 and she's complaining of creaks and squeaks when she drives over bumps. I want to lube up the slip yokes on both the diffs and transfer case as well as the U-joints.
I have Red Line CV2 grease on hand. Toyota calls for moly lithium grease and I believe Red Line uses a calcium complex thickener. The moly part is no problem. Of course, being overanalytical, I can go with ST Moly-lithium grease to keep the Toyota gods happy at the expense less robust grease.
My intuition says use the Red Line so I don't need to grease as often and to keep myself in the friend's social graces. Good move or just get the cheap Walmart grease and call it a day?
