My oil in my 2018 Taurus turned a definitive reddish color. The car has about 7400 miles and 3000 miles on the current oil. I searched the net and found other people having the same issue but nobody seemed to know why. After emailing Amsoil they stated it was perfectly normal and is caused by the detergents and dispersants taking on the color of certain contaminants inside the engine.

From what I've heard on here, that's very normal for Amsoil. Can't speak from experience, but I don't think that I would be worried about it.

I've been using Amsoil almost exclusively since 2004. Very common for it to take on a reddish hue. As stated many a time here on BITOG: "Color does not matter".

I observed it as well and so did another BITOG member who has not posted in this thread yet. I think it can turn red even in a clean engine based on my experience but I don't have 100% proof.
