Toro 24.5 HP v-twin - what oil after 5 hr break-in

I said it once I'll repeat my self , Mobil 15w50 , available alot of places . Heavy does of zinc . Can take alot of heat which a air cooled engine produces . Simple , buy it and no more worries.

I have been using NAPA Universal Fleet 15-40 in my four stroke outboard, edger, Kawasaki LM engine and a V-twin 20 HP Honda on a generator now for ten years,. Never had a problem. This is a diesel rated oil and has a good amount of ZDDP 1200 ppm in it. All of these call for 10-30 or 10-40 except the Honda, but I'm in S. Fla. so 15-40 is OK to me. From what I read a 10-15-40 runs like a 30W when hot.

I run T5 10w30 in my B&S 20HP twin with excellent results. Engine has 165 hours on it and runs like new with little or no oil usage. Change oil and filter as manufacture recommends at or before 50 hours.

I go for simplicity. All of my equipment (riding mower, push mower, snowblower, pressure washer) can run 5w-30 so I use it in everything.

Seems like common sense to read the manual.
