My 2gr-fe v6 venza threw a code P0057. mileage about 77k. Ran on mostly costco/sams club gas since I got it. 10k miles ago. I reset it and it came back. It seems like the left lower o2 sensor needs to be changed out. Looks like I need DENSO 2344260. Before I buy, can they be cleaned? i've never had an o2 sensor fail so will cleaning it with gasoline, carb cleaner, seafoam make it work again? I've even seen people putting them in ultrasonic cleaners. Or should I just get the replacement part?

That error code says the heater circuit is bad. So probably a bad sensor and cleaning it won't help. At 77k, it's possible it's time for a new one anyway. You can also check the wiring to make sure nothing else is damaged.

By doing it yourself which it appears that you are going to do... you are saving enough money to buy a new one.

$100 at brick and mortars. $42 on walmart.com or Amazon.

I have cleaned O2's using Gumout...but cleaning won't do anything for the bad heater circuit. Test it like Trav said but odds are it's shot.
