My 2002 4Runner has an intermittent braking vibration. About a year ago I replaced both front rotors with OEM Toyota rotors. I only use Toyota brake pads and hardware.

I just noticed this week that sometimes when I apply the brakes to slow down I get a shudder. Sometimes it slows smooth as silk. It's not a bad vibration but it's definitely
there.

I'm wondering if my pads have grease or something on them. I'm hoping some of you can get me going in the right direction as those doggone wheels and tires are heavy.
LOL

That can be caused by a malfunctioning brake caliper. On my old BMW the piston was seized in a cocked position and caused it to happen. I thought it was the slide pins at first but those were okay.

Examine both sides of both rotors for glazing, and all the pads for even wear. Also check the tie rod ends, bushings, etc., you might have a worn one, and under the right conditions it can wobble.
