Does it burn any oil? Why don't you use the HM formula??

Doesn't burn any oil, and no leaks, so haven't seen any reason to switch.

You could EASILY double the OFCI here; that wear is incredibly low. The former OCI had even better wear rates; less than 1ppm/1k miles!
There is no contamination in sight.

EXTEND THE OCIs.

The act of preventative maintenance, in and of itself, is FAR MORE important than brand/grade/base choices among lubes and filters.
- under maintaining something is akin to abuse/neglect; that can kill equipment by shortening the lifespan
- over maintaining something has never been proven to be anything but a waste of time and money

Same M1 5w30. Previous OCI had a lot of highway miles, whereas this OCI was almost all city driving.

Zeng - your conclusion is ill-founded. Although the samples are of the type oil, if they had been different, it would have been completely improper to infer that one did "better" than another. Sample sets of low quantity cannot establish a trustworthy understanding of stdev.

8k city or 12k highway sounds like enough use for M1 in a large, gas guzzling, SUV.

Agreed. Thanks. Noting for example the Ti and TBN values from the longer 12k run. May be able to go longer, but I feel better changing it at about these intervals.
