2016 Sierra 2500 with a 6.0. What is the best oil filter. I plan on running mobil1 10-30 full synthetic. Thanks

I run the fram ultra on everything, even my zero turn. Not sure what the best filter is per say. But the ultra is well built and has had few issues when others cut them open for inspection.

To me there is no best filter. But the ultra would be close for me looking at price and construction. Once I use up me supply of oem filters, I will go back to the ultra.

ACDelco, Wix, or Fram. Will you be using the OCI suggested by the OLM?

On a truck that new the dealer oil filter. Maybe have them do the whole change. My dealer charges $50 up to six qts Delco full synthetic, filter, tire rotation, multi point inspection. and bring it around washed for me to get into. Don't know if others have that price. The filter may have to have the high bypass pressure spec.
If you want clean oil all the time as the goal, check into a Frantz setup.

The 2016 6.0 uses the Fram 10060. The 6.0 is a Gen 3 and does not have the AFM system so it does not need the recently released 12060 that the 2016 5.3 would use. The 6.0 is an awesome engine. I have 185,000 miles on mine. It is gonzo for 2020. Long live the 6.0.

Thanks for the info fellas.
Snag, I bought this truck new in oct. 16.
I have decided to go away from the duramax because the 6.0 should do everything I need it for. Yesterday I towed with it for the first time. Very impressive through the mountains. She's got balls! 1283 miles on it so far.

This is what I'm running on my truck, a quick look and it's also for the GM 6.0

If you want a synthetic media filter, the Ecoguard Synthetic is also on Rock Auto for less than 4$

Thanks. Yes, it's a Gen IV. I recall it is one Gen back from the 5.3 which is a Gen V. ( Gotta get my Gen's correct). And yes, it has VVT but not AFM.

Hmmm.......Like to see that.

I use OEM for the first few oil changes while the engine is breaking-in to see if any warranty issues happen. Then a Fram model ?? depending on how long an OCI you will be running. Ed

Ok here's a follow up question.
So will what ever I use for the 16 6.0 be the filter of choice for my early 2000's 6.0 hotrod's.?
If so I am leaning towards the delco upf48r .
Summit has them for $6. Thanks
