I never understood why wiper refills were not more popular. I use them, even buy them from the dealer.(good Japanese refills) even my wiper frame is starting to rust, but it still works, and keeps that aerodynamic profile that came from the factory.

For how much? I can get the complete name brand blades for about $3.50

$4.50 at my local Walmart.

Probably because the profit margins were too low and people didn't know how to put them in. Hard for a store to make much money on a refill if they're only selling for $3-$5 each. Sell them the whole blade and you can make 2-4x more.

Parts Authority but I have a discount.

I scavenge them and save them!

The stainless steel "Rails" on each side of the rubber make FANTASTIC filler rods when making welds on steel that can benefit from a little corrosion resistance! <3
