Pennzoil 5w20 Conventional Noack doubled in 3 years?

That would be outside of normal variation. When it tested unexpectedly low at 6.5% it was thought that SOPUS had an excess of synthetic basestocks available and used them in PYB. 13.1% is not unusual for a dino oil
 
That's interesting. What is the definition of conventional oil? Just curious now. Not that the oil companies want to this but can you sell syn-blend or syn as conventional?

Edit:
Just remembered that I have Chevron Supreme 5Wx30 dino and the jug doesn't say syn-blend but the web site says it is syn-blend.

I used to use PYB for its high TBN, good dose of moly, and low Noak when I could find it on clearance at AAP and Home Depot. I haven't used it since 2016 with their formulation change.

So you can confirm that the current 5w20 conventional has the 13+ Noack? [censored]
