Who Has The Oldest Daily Driver?

'95 Olds Cutlass Ciera
Picked it up from an auction then unexpectedly pressed into being a long distance commuter, 106 miles round trip daily for a year and a half so far. Gets good gas mileage, comfortable ride and easy to repair.

I got rid of my 93 ciera almost 2 years ago, i wish i could find another low mileage one, with the 3.3.

I don't drive any one of my trucks every day, but I'll drive any of them on any given day. All three get driven at least a couple times a week with the 94 Explorer and "newer" 02 Ranger seeing the most use.

I believe I am the 4th owner of the Explorer, which has 251K on it. I am the 5th or 6th owner of the 94 Ranger with 201K, and the second owner of the 02 Ranger with 232K. All three can start up and drive wherever right now. The older trucks are better looking, not perfect but well above average for age, the beat to heck 02 makes a great Birmingham beater.

Headliner is falling apart. Also needs front end suspension rebuilt, every 100,000 mile a fuel pump, and brakes are spongy, but typical gmt400 issues. Transmission and engine are original. It is probably the best vehicle I will ever own.
My current DD is a 97 GMC K2500LD with a 5.0, the brakes are indeed spongy and the headliner is toast.

1990 Miata, 234,000 miles, 12-13 miles each way five days per week. I'm probably the sixth owner, maybe seventh. It is mechanically sound, could use some paint.

His will be hard to beat. My F-150 doesn't count since it almost never moves.

cdm1993: The headliner falling down is GM's traditional automatic reminder that it's time to retire a vehicle.

My '81 Mazda (listed below) is no more, but it made uneventful trips from South Carolina to Little Rock (~1400 miles round-trip) and to western Kentucky as recently as summer of 2014, and ones to Florida, Michigan, NYC, Louisiana, Indiana, and Mississippi, since 2008.

My '96 Volvo 850 is my only car, but it's not usually my daily driver, I prefer 2 wheels every day. 4 years ago my daily commuter was my 1987 BMW R65, I'd still use it daily if needed. Everyday on the 200? Piaggio Zip 50.

I daily drive my 1991 Pathfinder since i bought it in 2000. It now has 254K miles and I'm the 2nd owner.

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I bought it new in 1994
Now at 165k miles
Needs a paint job and headliner
I bought another Jeep last year and it stays in garage most time

1992 Honda Accord EX- has 208k miles. I drive it back and forth to work almost every day. I might drive the truck to work about once a week or so, the rest of the week I drive the Accord. I drove it from CT down to WV last year, about 1,100 miles round trip (and actually reached 200k miles on the way down there). It ran great. It's very reliable. If I had to drive to California right now, I'd just hop in and go without hesitation. It would get me there and back, I'm sure. It's in perfect mechanical condition, all the accessories work, body is in great shape although the paint is starting to fade on the roof, and the rear quarters are JUST starting to bubble up with some rust.

My parents were the 2nd owners; they bought it in 1995 and it had about 20k miles on it. I was about 7 years old at the time. I took my driver's test in it when I was 16 in 2004, although I mostly drove a different car in high school. I started using it to commute to college in 2006 and it unofficially became my car. I officially bought it from my mom a few years later.

These pics are from 2 years ago. I put it in a car show just for the heck of it, since it was officially old enough. I didn't win any trophies.

Yes, I have classic vehicle license plates on it.

I got lucky and the previous owner ordered it with a 9.5 inch rear, but as a 6 lug. the g80 is ok, but it is solid.

It is a pain to look at but I beat on it and it just keeps on running. The new 6.6 gas sure does look nice though...

I daily drive this 83 Chevy Caprice all winter every day for the past 10 years except one year I drove a free 88 Mercury Grand Marquis until the frame rusted out by the end of that one winter.

Now my daily commute is less than 5 miles but it used to be close to 100 a day when I was in college still. I bought it with 160k miles and now it has over 230k miles.

In the summer I daily drive my 84 Cutlass but I drive the Caprice at least once every couple weeks. Sometimes several days in a row, to keep parts from seizing up. I drove it home tonight or I'd put up a picture of the Cutlass (much more presentable).

It has the original carbed 305 and I run Mobil 1 5w30 high mileage in it. The original 3 speed transmission I replaced with a 4 speed automatic with a lot more miles.

I'm hopefully getting it painted this fall and replace the 305 with a 5.3 next year.

Forgot to add as per original post...

Previous owners unknown. The guy I bought it from (for $1500 10 years ago - needed nothing for safety) had it for at least 5 years and parked it every winter until the last. The owner before him had it many years but owners before that unknown.

I oil spray it every year and have cleaned up and painted as much as possible of the frame and floor twice since I got it. The body is rusting in a few places but the frame looks like new still.

I would hope a guy living in the salt belt doesn't end up the winner here!

I have a friend in South Carolina with a 77 Impala with around 340k miles, original engine. His dad bought it new. It was his wife's daily driver for many years. She passed away, then it was his for many years. Now he's retired and has other cars he drives also, so it's not a daily anymore, but every time we've visited him we rode in it. Did one very rushed trip going over 85mph for about an hour straight because of a family emergency and it held up fine. His car needs paint badly but it's so solid still because of the lack of salt on the roads. It's on it's third interior though.
