Just got back from a quick trip down to Kalispell and Libby, Montana. Here are some shots of the Libby dam which started producing power in 1975. It's currently making 600 MW. It makes power from water from the Kootenay River from Canada, then the river, known as the Kootenai River in Montana flows back into Canada, then joins the mighty Columbia and flows back into the USA to exit west of Portland Oregon. Enjoy.

Yes. It was totally laced with steel re-bar. Some of the re-bar was about 2-1/2 inches thick. I understand it's considered a gravity base dam.
