Nine cars failed pre-race technical inspection ahead of Sunday's Gander RV 400 (3 p.m. ET on NBCSN/NBC Sports App, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) at Pocono Raceway, most notably the No. 3 of Austin Dillon, the No. 48 of Jimmie Johnson and the No. 24 of William Byron. Dillon's No. 3 failed twice, which means a crew member will be ejected from his team.

The full list of inspection failures includes: The Nos. 3, 12, 15, 24, 27, 34, 32, 37 and 48 of Austin Dillon, Ryan Blaney, Ross Chastain, William Byron, Reed Sorenson, Michael McDowell, Corey LaJoie, Chris Buescher and Jimmie Johnson, respectively.

The No. 3 Richard Childress Racing entry failed when NASCAR Officials found the right rear of the car to be too low. Dillon's qualifying time was disallowed, meaning he will have to forfeit his fifth-place starting spot and move to the rear of the field before the green flag.

Never knew those tire inflation pressure varied so much. I would have expected them to be a few lbs. difference at the most. Makes sense though.

I'm not a fan of waiting to do inspection until the next day. Even though I don't do it, it really messes with fantasy teams and now legal sports booking. I think that they should do it after qualifying.

Also something of note, Pocono has paid down strips of PJ1. This is the first use at a track not owned by SMI.

Its all in an effort to get the car to turn left. Next week at Watkins Glen should have recommended pressures closer to the same side to side. In past years they have used the same compound on both sides, I have not heard any changes for this year. They will be using the 750hp tapered spacer there.

Interesting strategies for pitting. Pocono is long enough where if you are close enough to the leader, you can pit under green and not go a lap down.

Caution lap 98, 12 spun in turn 3. Had made contact to in the wall earlier collecting the 41. The 18 was on pit road as the caution came out.

Caution lap 156, cars 1 and 34 involved in turn 2. The 17 spun the 1 into the 34. 34 spun into the wall. 32 is the free pass, will only be 1 lap down.
