I've found 2 Motul options that are 507.00 VW compatible - "Specific" and "8100 X-Clean+"

https://www.motul.com/ca/en-US/products/specific-504-00-507-00-5w30

https://www.motul.com/ca/en-US/products/8100-x-clean-5w30--2

So far I've found the X-Clean + to be the cheapest 507.00 available on Amazon. I didn't find the 'Specific' listed on Amazon.

The 'specific' seems to be specifically a VW only oil, with no other certifications. The X-Clean + meets some BMW/MB/Porsche certs as well as the VW 507.00. Does anyone really think there is any significant differences between them to be concerned about? Or any concerns about Motul in general?

Considering it for a '14 VW 2.0 TDI.

They sell it at my local parts store. I can’t think of any reason not to use the 8100 X Clean.

I agree, my feeling is if it meets the spec, it should be fine. I wasn't sure if I was just missing anything though. I haven't seen too many VW people talk about this option.

Also sometimes on Amazon you’ll find Total Quartz Ineo LongLife (not the MC3) and Liqui-Moly 4200, which are 507 also. I wouldn’t hesitate to use any of them including the Motul and I’d probably just buy the cheapest also.

Edit - if you don’t mind stocking up a bit you can get 15 qts of the Total for $110 right now.

I have used Total Quartz Ineo LongLife in my TDIs before without issue.
