Off a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe with whatever shop used. 4,xxx miles on oil and filter. I installed some EDGE friend supplied and ST 9688. I bet someone here will crucify me for using that filter too but I just dont care anymore after what happened earlier.

Thats what I was thinking.
Pleats on the sides of the seam are not too bad compared to others.

Who has issues with the ST9688? It is what I was planning on using on my mom's Kia.

Certain "member" here singles me out in my thread in PCMO forum for no reason.

ANYWAYS, ST 9688 been shown to be good filter

I have and will continue using the ST9688. It's a well constructed, 10k mile, excellently priced oil filter.

I did, and was glad to see it.
I was leaning toward OEM since they were available for a decent price at Walmart, or even just a Fram Extra Guard but after seeing that ST, I decided that would be more than adequate for a 5000 mile.

Jobber filter, looks like it got the job done at ~4k miles. More notable to me, it shows the filter consolidation used in the quick lube/indie shop oil change biz. This one two sizes down from spec, skipping the 7317 size. As for using the new ST 9688 hybrid ecore design, I don't see a problem. Many filters use nitrile adbv, and for 5-6k oci, just fine. ACDelco now also using a similar to ST9688 design.

Thanks for c&p.

I have saw plenty of "consolidated" sizes/exact same length Pennzoil, Valvoline filters etc on Kia/Hyundai at work.
