Intake is off, water pump off and heater hoses disconnected.
Had problem with tranny fluid in engine coolant, that problem is resolved.
Before disassembly, I did several drains and fills, while running engine and flushed system with degreaser/cleaner designed for cooling systems.
Fluid appeared to be pretty clean at that point
Both heater cores have had hoses removed and individually flushed
My question is at this point, is there any reason to remove the block drain plugs and flush the block keeping the thoroughly flushed heater cores isolated from the system before putting it back together?
I also have a venturi coolant vacuum system, is that as good as flushing the block independently from the rest of the system?
Am I asking for problems if I get into trying to remove a block drain bolt on an engine this old?
