Pep Boys has 5 quart jugs of Mobil 1 Synthetic oil on sale for $30.98 (which isn’t a great price). BUT they have a Pep Boys $15 rebate (on a Visa card) and Mobil 1 has a manufacturers $12 rebate. That brings the price down to $3.98 for 5 quarts which is an amazing deal. 😏👍

FTR the Pep Boys rebate limits you to two jugs and unfortunately the Mobil rebate limits you to one. Still, $3.98 for a jug is awesome.

The Mobil promotions site does not list Pepboys as a participating retailer: https://mobiloil.com/en/promotion/mobil-promotions/mobil-1-rebate-2019#

I bought a jug of PP 5W30 at Pep Boys for ~$28 and submitted for the $15 rebate...I don't think SOPUS had a rebate in effect at that time, but I asked about M1 since I figured I could get two rebates and the guys at the desk indicated that the PB rebate for that line was actually paid by XOM and I couldn't double dip.
I didn't buy the M1 so I can't try to get both rebates, but I guess there's nothing to stop the OPer from trying.
I really liked the simple rebate process for Pep Boys, just had to give a number off the receipt with my name/address/email and I was done. I felt stupid because I had already gone to the hassle of scanning the receipt...twice because it wasn't centered well the first time and I figured that would be cause for rejection.
I will probably use PB again for oil if they have rebates like this in the future, keeps me out of WM and the one where I stopped (not near home but on my way back from our vacation place) is right near a Taco Bell...my guilty pleasure. Well, if I actually get the rebate, of course...has only been a week.

It's a retailer specific promo listed on M1's website..

pep boys
What I'm curious about is will they let you "double dip" on both the PepBoys promo AND the M1 $12 rebate, using the same receipt???

1) They always say it is limited to specific retailers.
2) I've never had a rebate rejected because of this.

YMMV.

Correct, Mobil has a special $15 Pepboys prepaid visa card promotion. That makes it a very very good deal.

OK, is the Pepboys own visa card good only @ Pepboys, or is it a generic prepaid visa good anywhere?

It is a Visa card, good anywhere Visa cards are accepted.

And as I posted before, it is not just M1, it is several brands of oils than have the $15 rebate (Castrol, Mobil, Valvoline and Pennzoil).

Right but what about double dipping the PepBoys promo and the $12 promo using the same receipt?

If that's allowed then that is a 🔥🔥🔥 deal!

I guess I'll find out. I did something similar at O'Reilly a while back where I doubled up an O'Reilly rebate with a manufacturer rebate (possibly Valvoline--not positive) and got the oil for next to nothing.

IIRC, PP 5W30 was $28/jug before the rebate and M1 5W30 was $31/jug at the PB store I visited.
I asked at the desk about double dipping on the XOM rebate and was told that the $15 was really from XOM and I wouldn't be able to get another $12 rebate on top of that.
Went with the PP since it was a bit cheaper assuming the no double dip info I was given was correct, and I don't believe there was a generic rebate from SOPUS at the time (I know there is one now).
