I bought this last month for a dollar more, which I thought was pretty good. Now it's even lower, so I added another to my Subscribe and Save.

Amazon Non-S&S Price: $9.73

Amazon S&S Price: $8.27

How you planning on using it??

Do you need to remove the intake or stuff like that!

I didn't do a good job spraying this stuff in through an open airbox, fouled my MAF sensor and also had some severe backfire-type action after letting it soak for a while.
I have no doubt that this is a good product, I just wasn't able to make it work well with my FXT.
Do you spray it through the airbox or into a different location?

I ended up buying the Subaru tool for its cleaners and running them through a vacuum line. I guess I don't see a reason offhand why I couldn't spray the CRC cleaner through the same line, but I've already got the danged tool...
The only issue I have now is that my latest order of top engine cleaner was delivered in a metal can instead of the plastic one I had gotten before. This new can is not compatible with the tool, which screws perfectly into the plastic bottle and is too long for the shorter metal can. I guess I can just pour the cleaner from the metal can into an old plastic one that I haven't recycled yet, but I am going to have to be careful about not spilling this stuff. I quickly opened the metal can and took the tiniest of whiffs to see if it was the petrochemical smelling top engine cleaner I was used to or the very bleachy smelling carbon cleaner and I felt like somebody had punched me in the brain and was staggered a bit...bad idea!

I believe the instructions say to spray it in through a vacuum line or into the throttle body at a location after the MAF sensor.

Be very careful using that product (a very good one mind you) on non GDI engines. On non GDI engines with real valve deposits it soaks into the deposits and if you shut it off to soak or god forbid stall it you may have a serious problem getting it running again.
The injector spray hits the valve and releases some of that stuff in with the fuel, it does not like to burn and fouls the plugs again and again. If you are fortunate enough to own a stick push starting will get it going but it will run terrible for about 30 miles.

I found this out the hard way, it was a nightmare. No real issues with GDI other than a bit of rough running for a short time as the fuel is injected right into the cylinder and fires.

I plan to find vacuum lines on each side of the intake to try and get both banks as well as possible. I'll have to look again, but I think the brake booster line (which seems to be most commonly used, if I'm not mistaken) will put most of the spray through only the driver-side bank (2 cyl.)

HOWEVER, if this stuff really does spray in as a fine mist, then even adding it to the brake-booster line might allow it to distribute throughout the intake. I'll have to think more on it and let you guys know how I decide to do this. The oil is due to be changed soon, and I want to do this prior to a decently long, aggressive drive, to get max benefit.

What prompted you to do it through the airbox? That sounds like the worst place to do it.

Do you have a picture of the tool? Sounds like your best bet, as you say, is to re-use the old container, which allows you to screw it in.

Yep...the MAF in my car is right before a more or less right angle turn in the air path.
IIRC getting to the throttle body itself was a chore in the FXT. I also didn't know which vacuum line would lead to cleaning the valves for all 4 cylinders at that time.
I opened the airbox as much as I could and had the nozzle extension from the can curved around the bend past the MAF sensor....all I can think is that some of it sprayed back onto the sensor off some obstruction I couldn't see. I cleaned the MAF sensor with the appropriate CRC cleaner and everything was fine again.

I was getting help from folks on SubaruForester.org and getting to the throttle body sounded like way too much for my skills...the CRC instructions do say spraying in the airbox after the filter is removed is OK as long as you're past the MAF sensor, which I thought I was.
Again, I think the CRC product is good....I fully admit that the problem was in my application of it.
Here is the tool I have, looks like there is also a version with a shorter metal pickup tube to match the shorter metal cans...

The cone-shaped white plastic piece jams into the vacuum line and apparently atomizes the cleaning product.

What do you recommend for a non GDI engine?

I dump a thing of Gumout w/ Regan or Chevron Techron in my MPFI engines once a year or so. I use top-tier sporadically, now that one of the most convenient stations is a Stop-and-Shop station, which is always cheaper than the nearby Mobil and Shell station.

There's a Citgo station nearby that's the same price as the Stop-and-shop station, but it's tiny and looks janky. I know Citgo is listed on the top-tier site, but it doesn't seem very busy and I definitely wouldn't trust the premium there in my FXT.

Funny, I literally just bought this on Amazon for $9.73, but was $9.24 with S&S (since I don't used S&S it is only 5% off)

Mom just bought a 2018 Kia Soul that has the 2.0 Nu with GDI and was looking at how to maintain it.

Just be aware, the subscribe and save price may not stay the same. Your first order will be at this price, but future orders may not be.
