May be a silly question, wondering if ATF-4 is a synthetic fluid? Going to do my transfercase and do my powersteering fluid, want to stock up.

Thanks,

It's group III synthetic. In fact, all licensed ATF+4 on Chrysler's approved list is the same since they are so strict. Not only is it group III, it's the same group III from one of three suppliers, plus a specific Lubrizol add pack.

If you can afford it, Redline C+ uses the same add pack as licensed ATF+4 but with a better base stock.

If you mean atf+4 then definitely yes. It's a group 3 base oil with a specific add pack. All atf+4 is the same, and only c+ is better being group 4 base oil. Would only put c+ in if you live in the barren Arctic tundra though...

Where is the place that stocks Redline? It is not easy to find around here!

Petro Canada ATF+4 stacks up pretty well against Redline, and is readily available.

I cannot think of any ATF+4 which does not stack up well against C+. Redline should name it's product C-.

make the inside of your engine oil cap white.
don't use.

I agree, crackmeup.

Best ATF+4 fluid I've ever used is Redline C+.

If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.
