I know what you mean. I bought 7 new tires (4 Assurance Comfortred's) with good rebates. Still they cost $1000 & I bought used tires, ever since. Twice, I bought Goodyear Assurance (even Comfortred) tires with 60%-65% tread remaining, for $30 each. Presently, one of them is on one of my rear wheels, providing excellent service. Being over-sized tires on the rear, they have calmed the wheel hop that my car has due to lack of an anti-sway bar. Yeah, love my used over-sized tires
