The 1.8T ain't so bad if you run a stout oil in it. I've seen a 10K KM UOA on 0W40 that looked pretty good.

The longitudinal were the notorious sludgers, too. 600k on the original motor and trans would be pretty impressive for a vehicle that [censored] off A LOT of normies at the turn of the century.

Yeah the b5 Passats wernt the best but this is the original motor and transmission. I inherited this car from a customer who passed away.
It's also always has a wix 51333 filter on it as well. I think the saying when it comes to filters "bigger is better and more is best eh"
Oci has always been 5k

I tried to put the upsized MANN on mine but the threads were different. I just put a Fram FPS 2870 or whatever size it is on just today, actually.

There's not much room for the oil filter on the transverse anyway. That filter would hang below the bottom of the bumper on my car.

Mann 940/25 is the upsized filter , yeah the 51333 wix wouldn't work on transverse cars very well lol. Not with the way my customers park anyways

Dude..... even a Wix 51515 would be MORE than enough oil filter - for over 20,000 miles!

That monster 51333 would last 50,000 and still never even get close to having reduced flow or efficiency.

At 7.21 dollars a piece from my wholesaler I use the wix 51333 just to up the capacity of oil I can put into these engines.

Love seeing this. My 225 how TT just got 170k miles and still on the original turbo, engine, and trans.

Is yours on the original turbo? If not when did you swap it?

Thanks for the info
