Previously had a thread on a Mann filter I cut open. Wanted to compare the Hengst to it. This one was in place at least seven years and 3000 miles, and I put around 300 miles on it before changing.

Media and potting was in perfect shape and perfectly fine for that time in use and contact with oil. No concerns.

Same cotton gin type material, this one has louvers in the bypass section instead of holes, and no landscape fabric type material to keep the bypass section from coming out. Not that there's any practical chance of losing material from the bypass section given how tight pack and intertwined it is. It's just not practical.

I didn't get this one as far apart as the last due to time. Still it's well made and no concerns with its use.
