hello this is a 2000 maxima with a 3.0 VQ.
i've been using PP for like 4-5 years heard some really good stuff on here about it.

First test showed i had a leaky water pump so that was really nice to know!
Second test showed no leaks but bearing wear is the same.

i'm thinking maybe the oil is not good in my engine maybe?
nissan Z forums have mobile 0w40 as a recommened bu they also have PP so idk.
What do you guys think? i'm sorta TOed that i've been using PP for so long with accelerated bearing wear.

Didnt add any octane booster? How is your vehicle driven? If it acting this way on PP 10w30 I have reason to believe it wont improve much regardless of oil.

Did this era of Nissan have that underhood sticker that my 300ZX has, where it says to use 10W40 at 60F and above?

Welcome to BITOG Giga
Not liking it?...... try something else. You will need two OCIs to judge the new brand.
Par for the course really! Vehicle is getting old and tired.

yup, no octane booster or any garbage like that.
just 87oct. no make up oil this thing doesn't burn a drop

It's a daily driver here in socal where it drops into the 60's maybe 59f and the coldest of winter maybe into 52 or even 49f.
I work at 3am so basically i start it up when it's the coldest it's going to be.
Sometimes when running late i maybe cruise at 80 or 90 on the freeway for 5min.
Basically i baby it don't really romp on the thing.

What's not to like except for you know.... HIGH BEARING WEAR

So by getting old do you mean it needs new bearings because they are just worn out?
i was hopeing to read that maybe a thicker oil would help out.

this guy changed from motul to amsoil and it solved his problem.
there was allot of bearing wear with the motul and the amsoil went back to normal. idk

Guess i will try the mobile1 0w40?

I do not believe one can know exactly where this ppm of certain elements truly come from... The oil is in grade which ultimately what truly matters.

What gas does your manual say to run??

My 3.5 VQ is set to run 93 octane...

I wonder what your VQ was set up to run on.

^ i see. so where do u think the extra lead and copper are coming from?
are you saying 87 has more lead in it or what.

Going to change tomorrow to m1 0w40 since just maybe it's coming from cold start and also hths is 3.6 which it
looks like from what i'm reading is more like a thickkk 30.

Doing a 4,000 test. Guesses on if it'll help?

A) you have zero idea where those particles are coming from in all reality... You just don't.

B) The gas part was a legit question... Because later VQ motors were specd for 93...

idk about the owners manual pretty sure it runs on 87.
i couldn't even drive your car we don't have 93 in california.

This UOA looks fine.
The VQ30 tends to shed more lead than later engines.
It will shed that much or more using the same viscosity M1.
Nissan does recommend 91+ octane for all the VQ engines.
