Not a bad price. I picked up some 5w20 synthetic blend, 4 jugs shipped for under $50.

Sorry I'm too lazy to look this up but is this the same as VWB, maybe with a few tweaks? I have a lot of $10 Valvoline conventional oil change coupons and am waiting for them to declare them nul and void when VWB declares itself semi syn. I can see "You'll get it cheap but only in 10w30."

Pretty sure it's made by Valvoline .

Looks like there's a real move to relabel conventional as blend, but never saw that breakdown by weight before.

VWB in 5W20 & 5W30 has been a blend for over 2 years now, if your coupons are for VIOC, they're too freakin' stupid to know the difference!

It is Valvoline. I was in a NAPA about a 2 months ago to get some brake parts and a cabin filter and a customer ahead of me was buying a case of NAPA motor oil and he asked the clerk if he knew who manufactured NAPA oils, and the clerk said NAPA is made by Ashland which is Valvoline. He also said if you go to the NAPA website and click on an oil NAPA also has the MSDS sheets on the same page. I just checked on the NAPA page and click on any NAPA oil MSDS sheet and it brings up the manufacturer in the case of NAPA oil it is Valvoline , Castrol is BP, Pennzoil is Shell. etc. Napa oil is Valvoline Valvoline is higher price because of the fancier bottle and the radio,tv and print advertising. Advertisers try and lead people to believe that name brands are better, when in reality they are the same oil or product , just in a different bottle or jug .

You mean Walmart doesn't have their own blending operation or refineries, no way!

(yes, the practice of private labeling is foreign to many consumers..I guess Walmart must have their own wells somewhere in East Texas or Bentonville, Arkansas ๐Ÿ˜‚... they're big, but not THAT big.)

Riddle me this: Valvoline syn/blend "Durablend" is dexos1 GEN 2 approved for 5W-30, does the NAPA version have the same approvals? popcorn

EDIT: Reading further I see where VWB is also a syn/blend w/o dexos1, so this and the NAPA are effectively one in the same.
