Need to top off the PS fluid in my Maserati. Owners manual calls for Shell Spirax S1 ATF TASA. Can't find it anywhere, local or online. I don't need a 55 gallon drum of it either.

What fluids are cross compatible? I have Pentosin 11S left over from my BMW. I found this site saying type F ATF is compatible with Spirax S1, but I look up chevron type F and it says it's for PRE-1977 ford vehicles...

I'm inclined to believe that any ATF based power steering will suit your needs just fine. The PDS states Type A which if I'm not mistaken was superseded by Dexron III.

I don't think you'll be able to find 1l. packages of TASA.
Your local Mercedes-Benz dealer may have same 1l . bottles of A 000 989 26 03 10 (sometimes the shorter # 000 989 26 03 ) which is ATF TASA but the price is around $30 .
Maserati dealer should have some too.
Mercedes still advises on using only 236.2 approved oils in their manual trannies (up to mid 80ies) which is precisely ATF TASA oils (not that many if any of the owners observe the instruction- it is nearly impossible to find ).
