Hey Yall

I have a 2019 turbo Santa Fe. And a TON of 5w-30 Maxlife Semi-Syn.

Just wondering if anyone uses semi-syn in the newer turbo engine?

I noticed the flash point for the mixlife is 199c and the flash for the castrol 5w-30 edge is 202c.

Pretty dang close.

Just wanted to get some thoughts.

Thanks

Chances are the Santa Fe came with a Semi-Syn. I see no issues at all using it for 5K.

I'd not run it past 4K miles in that viscosity on that turbo engine.
xW-40 - yes, 5K miles is ok.

Is this a recent stash of SN+ rated Maxlife or older? I would likely avoid the older version of Maxlife in the newer turbo engine due to LSPI issues. I could be wrong but I think the older SN rated Maxlife had high calcium which may contribute to LSPI.

What oil specifications are required for that car? Does your oil meet the spec? Yes? Then use it. No? Then dont use it. Sell the stash on Craigslist if you dont have a use for it.

Hi Guys - -

It is the SN spec not the plus - - - -
The manual does not require SN+

Just an ACEA A5 oil - - - in multi weights - 5w-30 / 10w-30 / 5w-40 /

It really does not matter the oil still protects better than it has to at 4K or 5K miles no matter the grade if it's the correct specification.

make the inside of your engine oil cap white.
don't use.
