Purchase this last night as a computer monitor . Previous 30" TV , that I was using as a monitor , went bad .

So far , I really like it . Time will tell , as to how reliable it is .

Is your purpose watching video?

I am curious how text comes out on such a large screen, is it crisp?

What kind of computer/video card do you have? Does it support 3840 × 2160 resolution?

We'll need the actual name of each to help you.

HOW:

1. Tap the key with the WINDOWS logo
2. type 'device manager"
3. Select this
4. Find Processor info under, "Processors" drop-down
5. Find GPU info under, "display adapters"
5.a There may be two here: your GPU and another if your AMD processor has one built in

For me, I show:

4. i7-6700HQ
5. Intel HD Graphics 530
5.a NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970M

AMD has been making quad-core CPUs/APU's for the better part of a decade

I haven't looked at GPUs that cheap, but it may only be able to support 1080p

Luckily, your TV is a smart TV, so it may be able to handle 4K natively, meaning you can stream directly to the TV to watch Hulu, Netflix, etc.

Just trying to be helpful, in case his setup doesn't support 4K (or even 2K) and he bought the TV thinking it could.

Obviously, that's not to say that the OP isn't perfectly happy using his TV for 1080p, if he knew ahead of time that that's all he wanted.

Finally, since it's a smart TV, it should also be able to stream higher resolutions than 1080p, if he pays for those streaming services' offerings.
