Bought an old (1940s - 50s?) Webster reloading scale a while back. It is a beam type scale and has a dash pot for oil damping. The beam on the short side of the fulcrum has a little paddle mounted to it that fits down into a small glass jar that is supposed to be filled with the proper dash pot oil to help dampen beam oscillations during use. Any one have any idea what type of oil would be suitable or be similar to the proper dash pot oil that this type scale would use?
