Why do threads sometimes not have a bread crumb trail?

Most of the time when I open a thread it has a bread crumb trail at the top on the same line as my log in name and private message icon, For Example:

Home > Forums > Heavy Duty Engine Oil (HDEO) - Diesel Vehicles > dexosD??

Also that tab label would be: dexosD?? - Bob Is The Oil Guy

However sometimes i only get:

Home

and the tab label is:

- Bob Is The Oil Guy

(that particular thread is: "Honda V6 AISIN TKH-002 Timing Belt Kit � My review" at the moment.

Ive not figured out what precipitates this, but it has happened before.
