guys i have accent lc 2002 1.5L with 100k Km the car manual indicates that the suitable oil is 20w50 , 15W50 (according to ambient temperature) , is there is any issue using 5w50 instead of the indicated viscosities ?

Even if all the available 20w50, 15W50 has low API grade ( SL ) compared with 5W50 ( SN ) ?

beside the shearing due to a LOT of necessary viscosity improvers ALL thinner base oils even real synthetic are prone to burn off.

Have OAs shown a problem with shear on 5W-50 oils? I ran Castrol 5W-50 in my BMW bike for 5000 miles. OA on that oil showed it was still a 50wt oil.

Being in Egypt I was wondering if he could get away with a mono grade. He's not under warranty anymore, soooo...
