I am in process of selling my MF10 Lawn and Garden tractor, with attachments

It has a seal leak in the rear pumpkin, at both axle ends, behind the rear wheels.

I have tried to use 85w140 as a replacement....but it seems too thin and leaks out like water.

The tractor is now for sale, and I don't plan to remedy the seals. My question: What weight should actually be used in there?

I have an older manual, but it doesn't really specify. Is it possible to buy straight weight larger than 90 or 140?

Get some motor oil or transmission stop leak, I have had good luck with Gunk trans-medic but it is harder to find now so any should work. Dose at about one fourth bottle per quart. Then run it around some and wait a week. see if it works for you

Next heavier than 140w oil would be a "flowable" grease such as Corn Head Grease. That is what is used in modern manual lawn tractor transaxles.

Looks great for a 51 year old lawn tractor
I'd bet theirs not many around that's that old
Some MF tractor collector would love to have it
