Anyone using them? They are $55 for a 20x24x1 and are rated MERV 11. I have been using Filtrete basic which is about MERV 5.

Does your HVAC system get 5-8 more HP? Sorry I couldn't resist.

I will stick with filtrete filters.

I need 20X24X5 filters....found some at Lowe's, but I had to climb up a shelf level to reach them.

BTW, stacking 5 1" thick filters is NOT good advice...

Nope, I have an HVAC that was installed by the builder. No real information on what it can tolerate as far as efficiency goes. It gets MERV8 NaturalAire filters ($10.99/3 pack) every 3 months.

After reviewing the K&N materials, I can't imagine that it's truly a one and done situation. At $55 for the K&N it would take five 3-packs to get my money back. five 3-packs equals 45 months of coverage. I can't imagine that one K&N filter can truly withstand almost 4 years of usage. It will eventually get caked up enough to where it becomes restrictive to the system.
